Who are we ?
Canning Sea Scouts caters for all age groups, from 6-25, with each age group providing fun activities that promote the development of leadership, planning, interpersonal and communication skills and even physical ability; all while making great friendships and memories! We are here to give kids the support they need to shape them into leaders of the future and to give them the opportunities to test their skills and see just how far they can go.
Our history
We were formed in 1975 as a combination of the 1st Millen Sea Scout Group (formed in 1959) and the 1st Wilson Sea Scout Group (formed in 1963). The Canning scarf adopted the designs and colours from both scarves – taking the design of the 1st Millen scarf and the colours of the 1st Wilson scarf, thus serving as a constant reminder of our beginnings as a scout group. Each side of the patch represents the two former groups and the blue scarf colour represents the Canning River, from where we adopted our name.
Feedback from families

Joining 1st Canning Sea Scouts has been one of the best things we have done for our youngest and our family! We love the friends we’ve all made here and being part of the Scouting community has helped my son gain confidence and taught him new and exciting skills. Furthermore, scouting has even strengthened our family relationships too!
